The genetic modification of human beings: sustainability

While sustainability has been defined by many as meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability to do so of future generations, genetical engineering opens a whole point of view – that of defining the needs of the future generations, just as Huxley did described in his work: “most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution.” This logic can be applied to many human needs that could be influenced, or modified, via genetic engineering; perhaps it is one of the hidden causes that will create the 21st century progressives – modification of future generations to avoid the environmental catastrophe of human activity. It remains to be seen where we head towards as genetic engineering grows, but it seems to me that much of the underlying processes in that realm may skip past the attention of the public, which is why I write this.
